The policy emphasizes the importance of breastfeeding for both the baby and the mother, highlighting the numerous health benefits. It also addresses the need for care to be mother and family-centered, non-judgemental, and supportive of parents' decisions. The policy outlines the commitment to improving breastfeeding rates by implementing the UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Standards.
