Wider Workforce at DCHS
Our wider workforce team's focus is to help grow the DCHS work force.
The team has a varied portfolio, which includes attending school career events to promote the different roles within our Trust and supporting our internal workforce to gain recognised qualifications through apprenticeships to enable individuals to develop and grow their Knowledge Skills and Behaviours (KSB’s) in their current roles. Apprenticeships may also be undertaken in preparation to move into other roles within the NHS for example, Student Nursing Associate (SNA) to qualify as a Registered Nursing Associate (RNA). Whichever stage you are at, our team will help you to Get Ready, Get In, Get On and Go Further in your NHS Career.
The team is responsible for:
- Apprenticeships
- Work experience for schools & college students
- Pre-employment programmes (including King's Trust)
- Career Events & NHS Ambassadors
- Functional skills
- Information, advice and guidance and career development conversations.
The Wider Workforce Team is part of the Joint Venture for DCHS, we also work across the Integrated Care Board Derbyshire.
Functional Skills
Functional Skills qualifications are key to building foundations for learners to progress into their specialist skillsets. They are an alternative to the GCSE route and offer learners a vocational pathway into English and Maths. Please complete the Expression Of Interest form for Function Skills.

Option 1 - Contact the Qualification Body to request a copy of the required certificate (they may charge you for this).
- You can sometimes find your records via this government website (only if after 2010)
- How to get a replacement certificate
Get a replacement exam certificate: Who to contact - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
Option 2 - Complete a Level 2 Functional Skills in the required subject. We can offer this to you, please see the information in the Functional Skills section above.
