About Us

Our Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs) in Buxton, Ripley, Ilkeston and Whitworth Hospitals are open seven days a week, between 8am and 8pm.

They are all run by specialist nurses and GP cover is also provided to further broaden the level of clinical expertise and supervision available in each of the centres.

For residents of Derby, the Derby Urgent Treatment Centre, is also available to treat minor injuries and illnesses.

If we reach full capacity before 8pm, we may need to stop taking new patients so everyone already waiting can be treated safely.  If this happens, please use NHS 111 for advice on where to get the right care. Patients with appointments booked through NHS 111 should still attend at their scheduled time.

If you have any of the following symptoms, please call 999:

  • Signs of heart attack - chest pain, pressure, heaviness, tightness or squeezing across the chest.
  • Signs of a stroke - face drooping on one side, cannot hold both arms up, difficulty speaking.
  • Sudden confusion (delirium) - cannot be sure of name or age, slurred speech or not making sense.
