Missing from Known Address Policy (P71)
The purpose of the Missing Children and family Alert (MCFA) process is to locate pregnant women and children who have disappeared from view following an undisclosed change of address and for whom there may be concerns about child welfare in respect of unmet need, vulnerability or abuse. Working Together to Safeguard Children (HM Government 2018) identifies that all children should be safeguarded and have their welfare promoted. This Policy is aimed at DCHS Services that hold a child caseload.
Safeguarding Adults Policy (P28)
The aim of this policy is to support staff to comply with their duties under the Care Act 2014 (sections 42-46) for safeguarding adults and the Derbyshire and Derby Safeguarding Adults Boards Safeguarding Adults Policy and Procedures. The policy sets out the principles and practice of safeguarding adults and the responsibilities of Derbyshire Community Health Services (Trust) staff when caring for an adult (aged 18 years and over) where safeguarding concerns arise. “Safeguarding means protecting an adult’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect…people and organisations working together to prevent and stop both the risks and experience of abuse or neglect, while at the same time making sure that the adult’s wellbeing is promoted including, where appropriate, having regard to their views, wishes, feelings and beliefs in deciding on any action” (Care and Support Statutory Guidance 2017:14.7).

Use of Clamshell Vaccine Bags by Community Nursing Teams (S99)
DCHS staff support the annual Influenza vaccination campaign and other vaccination programs by vaccinating some patients on behalf of GP practices. Vaccines are stocked in the GP practices and administered in the patients’ own homes (including care homes), which means they need to be transported between locations. DCHS staff have been provided with Clamshell Vaccine Bags for this purpose. This Standard Operating Procedure provides information to DCHS staff on the use of Clamshell Vaccine Bags.
