We provide two services for people with diabetes - Community Diabetes for people with Type 1 & Type 2 diabetes and our Diabetes Education service for people with Type 2 diabetes in Derby and Derbyshire. Each service is designed and selected according to individual requirements.

Dynamic Air Flow Pressure Relieving Mattresses are provided to people who spend extended periods of time in bed or are bedbound due to illness and impaired mobility. This means that if a fire starts or smoke detection activates, the individual using the bed is unlikely to be able to respond/escape without assistance. When the mattresses are provided in a home setting, living alone or being alone in the property is therefore a risk factor for consideration.

This guideline aims to promote standardisation and safety of insulin administration supported by Derbyshire Community Health Services (DCHS NHS FT). It underpins the guidance set out by governing bodies and organisations within the Acknowledgement of this policy
