About us
This is an integrated service run by physiotherapists and occupational therapists. The aim of the service is to provide assessment and treatment for a wide range of muscle and joint pains.
Our therapists complete thorough assessments to determine the cause of your problem, and can offer specific advice about how to manage your symptoms and achieve your treatment goals.
This may include individual or group exercises to improve your strength and activity levels, advice about lifestyle changes and education on pain management strategies. We also have specially trained therapists who can offer injections to provide pain relief from various conditions, where appropriate.
Our therapists can also refer onwards to other appropriate services where needed.
Our team will work with you to decide on a treatment plan that addresses the things that matter most to you.
If you are aged 18 years and over, you can refer yourself for an assessment with one of our therapists.
The aim of the Pain Management Programme is to educate and support people with complex and persistent musculoskeletal pain to better understand and self-manage their condition.
The programme explains pain mechanisms and provides coping strategies and to help improve self-confidence and functional independence.
The programme runs in Chesterfield and North-East Derbyshire and is jointly provided by Health Psychology and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.
The programme consists of 6 sessions. Face-to-face and online groups are available.
