About us
This is an integrated service run by physiotherapists and occupational therapists. The aim of the service is to provide assessment and treatment for a wide range of muscle and joint pains.
Our therapists complete thorough assessments to determine the cause of your problem, and can offer specific advice about how to manage your symptoms and achieve your treatment goals.
This may include individual or group exercises to improve your strength and activity levels, advice about lifestyle changes and education on pain management strategies. We also have specially trained therapists who can offer injections to provide pain relief from various conditions, where appropriate.
Our therapists can also refer onwards to other appropriate services where needed.
Our team will work with you to decide on a treatment plan that addresses the things that matter most to you.
If you are aged 18 years and over, you can refer yourself for an assessment with one of our therapists.
We only accept referrals into our Pain Management Programme from Health Care Professionals. Self-referral is not available for this service. More information about the pain management programme is available by clicking on this link: DCHS Pain Management Programme Leaflet
We recommend that people complete the Live Well With Pain (LWWP) course before the Pain Management Programme.
The Live Well With Pain course gives lots of advice for adults living with chronic pain and how they can manage it.
Live Well With Pain courses are available on-line and in person.
