Diabetes Education programmes

If you have type 2 diabetes, attending an education course is an important part of your treatment plan. The course will help you to understand your condition. This means you can learn how to control it and have the best quality of life possible.

We have two different education programme for people in Derby and Derbyshire. These are X-PERT Diabetes and Diabetes and You.

X-PERT Diabetes is our recommended course.  It is delivered online or face-to-face and covers:

  • The impact of being diagnosed with diabetes.
  • How food affects your diabetes.
  • Healthy eating.
  • Medication.
  • The positive effects of being active.
  • Planning your diabetes care.
  • Local services available to support your own health goals.

Diabetes and You is a half day course and only suitable for those who have limited time to attend our X-PERT Diabetes sessions.

The courses are run by trained diabetes educators. They will help you to understand your condition and answer some of the questions you may have.

Read the tabs below to find out more about the different courses and dates on offer, and how to book.

You need to be referred by your GP practice to attend these programmes.
