About the Service
The Neurology Nurse Specialist provides care and support to patients with Long Term Neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and other Parkinsonism’s and movement disorders.
Support can be offered for symptom management, medication and providing both the patient and family practical and emotional advice and education through all stages of the patient’s condition. Care is coordinated through working closely with the multidisciplinary team.
Covering Amber Valley and Erewash areas, assessment and treatment can be provided in both clinics and community settings
What happens now? If you are referred by the GP, Consultant, or any Health Professional, you will be contacted to attend a clinic appointment, or to have a Telephone Assessment.
About your appt - Appointments normally last 30mins. Please bring your prescription of medications. You are welcome to bring someone for support if preferred.
Parking/Transport - There is car parking at the hospitals and Medical centres, If you need transport you can organise an Ambulance through EMAS.
Can I have an Interpreter? An interpreter can be organised in advance if informed before the clinic date, or a family member/friend is also welcome if preferred.
