World Mental Health Day is about raising awareness of mental health and driving positive change for everyone’s mental health. It’s also a chance to talk about mental health, how we need to look after it, and how important it is to get help if you are struggling. There is support available to all staff in DCHS who might be struggling with their mental healt.
You can find out more about it here.
Sometimes, people who are having difficulties with their mental health may experience thoughts of suicide. It is really important that we know how to support people who are feeling this way. You can access the Zero Suicide Alliance Suicide Awareness training via ESR, or you can contact Wendy.Hodgkinson@nhs.net to book a bespoke suicide awareness session for your team.
If you would like to learn more about suicide awareness and get involved, DCHS have a Suicide Prevention and Awareness Group (SPAG) which meet regularly. You are more than welcome to join the SPAG, and the next meeting will be in early December. Please contact Wendy if you would like to get involved.
