Raising concerns the DCHS way

DCHS believe in an open and honest culture and is committed to creating and supporting a culture where members of staff are encouraged and empowered to raise concerns without fear of recrimination or victimisation in any way.

This portal is designed to support you to raise a concern in the most appropriate way.

Our senior leaders, Senior Independent Director and Freedom to Speak Up Guardian tell you all about our way in the videos below, plus we've designed a flowchart to help you identify how you can raise a concern and access sources of advice.

Did you know you can also raise your concern with the Senior Independent Director? The Senior Independent Director (SID) is a DCHS Non-Executive Director who sits on the trust board.

Our Freedom To Speak Up (FTSU) ambassadors play an important role in supporting the FTSU Guardian role, positively promoting key messages about speaking up and acting as champions for the FTSU agenda.

Our FTSU ambassadors support the FTSU Guardian by raising awareness and promoting the value of speaking up, listening up and following up. FTSU ambassadors undertake this role alongside their employed post within service areas. You can approach any of the FTSU ambassadors for an initial discussion.

You may feel more comfortable initially speaking to an ambassador if they are someone you know, or have worked with before. The FTSU ambassadors will help you to find the right person to speak up to, this might be a manager or the FTSU Guardian. You do not have to speak to a FTSU ambassador first – all staff have direct access to the Trust's FTSU Guardian. FTSU ambassadors do not have access to any case information held by the FTSU Guardian or knowledge of the individual FTSU contacts.

Meet all of our FTSU ambassadors
