Statement – social media investigation

We are aware of a very distressing post made on Instagram and we’re carrying out an internal investigation. We do not believe it was made by our employee of the same name, who has also reported the matter to the police. We will, however, continue to look into the issue due to the seriousness of the post.

All our staff are expected to maintain respectful communications in their work and not to use hateful language online that could undermine the reputation of the NHS. But we also respectfully ask people not to target our employees in an open forum. We have a clear process for investigating complaints which needs to be followed without the prejudice of online commentary.

Thank you for your understanding on this issue. If you wish to contact us about this, you can email: dchst.patientexperienceteam@nhs.net
