Public invited to NHS health meeting in South Normanton

NHS services will be in the spotlight at a meeting hosted by Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust on Thursday 5 December at the Postmill Centre, Off Market Street, South Normanton, Alfreton, DE55 2EJ from 12.30pm.

Members of the public are invited to come along for all or part of the meeting, starting with a focus on how we are tackling health inequalities, which are described as unfair and avoidable differences in health across the communities we serve. You can read more about health inequalities and how the NHS is addressing them. The engagement session will run from 12.30pm until 1.30pm with a chance to ask questions.

It will be followed at 2pm by the Trust’s regular Board meeting to which members of the public are invited as observers.

Julie Houlder, chair of Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust, said: “The first part of the meeting is about providing an opportunity for members of the public to engage with us about what they see as barriers to equitable healthcare provision and how we address them for our communities. We are really hoping people will come along to join in the conversation. The second part of the meeting is our formal trust board business. This is open to observers and then at the end of the meeting anyone can ask questions about anything which has been discussed. As an organisation we take our public accountability very seriously and this is one of the ways in which we ensure our business is always conducted in a spirit of transparency.”

Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust runs services at many locations across the county, listed on the trust’s website.
