Mask wearing across our sites

In line with regional and national guidance, and due to the significant increase of respiratory illnesses across the region and nationally, from today (Thursday, 5 January) surgical face masks will be required to be worn by our colleagues, visitors and patients across all our sites.

Fluid resistant surgical masks (FRSM’s) will be required to be worn by colleagues, patients and visitors again in the following areas:

  • All clinical areas, including offices attached to clinical areas
  • All public areas, including receptions and corridors
  • Patients’ homes.

Help Us, Help You: We are asking for our community to help us limit the spread of respiratory illnesses, like flu and COVID-19, in our hospital and in our community. Practising good hygiene will support our efforts and remains one of the best ways to limit the spread of infection, as well as being vaccinated against flu and COVID-19. We encourage visitors to not visit if they are symptomatic with coughs or colds whilst we try to limit numbers.
