A huge thank you to colleagues who helped us raise more than £2,000 for local hospices
This week, we were proud to present a donation to Ashgate Hospice, one of three local charities supported through last year’s flu vaccination campaign. The donation is part of a total £2,277 raised – a result of our pledge to give £1 for every flu jab administered.
All three charities – Ashgate Hospice, Treetops Hospice, and Blythe House Hospice – provide vital care and support for people and families across Derbyshire. Thanks to the incredible efforts of our colleagues, we’ve been able to give back to these much-loved local organisations and help them continue their essential work.
Our Deputy Chief Nurse, Jo Wain, who presented the cheque to Ashgate Hospice, said: “This is a brilliant example of how our everyday actions – like getting a flu jab – can make a real difference. I'm so proud of our staff for not only helping to protect themselves and others, but also for giving back to causes that matter so much to our communities.
“Thank you once again to everyone who took part. Your support helped protect patients and colleagues during flu season – and made a meaningful contribution to local hospice care across Derbyshire.”
Rachel Broughton, senior corporate and community fundraiser at Ashgate Hospice, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Derbyshire Community Health Services for the team's generous donation of £759 through their recent flu vaccination campaign.
“Support like this means the world to the hospice. We rely on the support of our community in order to raise the £11 million needed each year to keep our vital services running.
“Every single donation helps us care for the patients and the people important to them when they need us most.
“A huge thank you to everyone involved for making a meaningful difference in our community.”
