Derbyshire’s Breastfeeding Network is celebrating World Breastfeeding Week during the first week of August by hosting free picnic events across the county where families will receive a warm welcome.

Five picnic events, focused on this year’s theme, “Closing the gap: breastfeeding support for all”, will offer families the chance to celebrate their own breastfeeding achievements, provide breastfeeding peer support to those who need it, and include information about the free breastfeeding support on offer to everyone in Derbyshire through the Breastfeeding Network.

Catherine Hine, Breastfeeding Network CEO, said:

“Following last year’s very popular events across Derbyshire, we’re again looking forward to welcoming mums and families to picnic events across the county to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week.

“We hope to see some familiar faces as well as those of you who haven’t experienced the exceptional breastfeeding information and support that Breastfeeding Network provides, free of charge. These picnics are great opportunities to meet fellow parents, to access support on an infant feeding question, to find out about other services in the area or volunteering with the network, or to grab a piece of cake and celebrate with Breastfeeding Network as our team continues to show up for mums and families in Derbyshire, as and when you need us! Please do feel free to bring young siblings and teddies too!”
