After a very close public vote to choose the colour scheme for the internal fittings of the new Belper Health Centre, the final vote is in and the blues have it!
A total of 806 votes were cast in an online and in-person ballot which offered three colour palette options for the new building which is due to be completed in Spring 2026.

Construction work, which began in August 2024, is on target and the latest photos show just what an impressive building is taking shape to become a state-of-the-art health facility for Belper and the surrounding area.
The completed building will include 14 consulting rooms, six treatment rooms, a health education group room and other facilities, and will provide a range of services including community nursing, midwifery clinics, podiatry services, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, continence advisory service, wound care and phlebotomy. It is expected to open to patients in early 2026.
By earlier in September 2025 we could see the following progress:
Works completed:
- Demolition of Belper Clinic
- Foundations
- Drainage
- Erection of steel frame
- Fire protection to frame completed
- Installation of roofing sheets completed to all roofs
Works commenced:
- Mechanical and electrical fix
- Masonry to super-structure and lift shafts
- Partitions walls to ground floor area
- Window installation
- Plastering on ground floor
