A behind-the-scenes peep at progress on Bakewell’s new Newholme Health Centre
If you’ve been along Baslow Road in Bakewell recently you’ll have seen amazing progress on the new health centre, taking shape beside the old Newholme Hospital. We were granted access, by contractors Kier Group, to step inside the site during June to capture a few images of the structure and internal spaces which before long will be providing state-of-the-art healthcare facilities to people attending outpatient appointments with us at Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust. Here are just a few images which show the complexity of commissioning a brand new building, fit for modern healthcare, all housed in an exterior which sits sympathetically in the local Peak Park heritage area. We’ll bring you further news soon as this project nears completion, with exciting announcements on when it will be ready for handover to us in the NHS and when it will be ready to open its doors for patient care.
