DCHS has teamed up with Chesterfield-based social enterprise Inclusive Pedals to enable DCHS staff to try out an electric bike. DCHS staff can borrow up to two electric bikes for two weeks free of charge!

The fleet includes folding bikes, rear wheel drive and mid drive bikes in various frame sizes.

Inclusive Pedals can deliver up to two bikes per household to you at the start of the loan period and collect at the end. Unfortunately, this delivery service is only available to staff who live in areas in the north of the county shown on the map.  This is because delivering outside these areas would be prohibitive due to the time and cost involved.

However, if you work for DCHS and live elsewhere you can still participate if you can collect and drop off in Chesterfield yourself.

All the bikes are equipped with mudguards and lights and come with a lock, helmet (if required) and the battery charger.

When Inclusive Pedals drop off the bike they will run through instructions, provide a brief introductory ride and give you an information pack about the bike.

In order to find out more about the e-bike trial or to book a bike (or two) visit:

And while there don’t forget to check out their website to see all the other great things they are doing.

After you have tried out the bikes for two weeks the only requirement will be for you to complete a short survey for us, but we also hope you will be enthused enough to purchase a bike and cycle more in the future.

DCHS has a salary-sacrifice 'Cycle to Work' scheme enabling you to purchase a bike (normal or electric) with a discount and you will be provided with details of this scheme with the e-bikes.
