3rd August 2022

Needlestick and sharps injuries are one of the most frequent causes of injury in DCHS and as part of our Sharps Safety Working Group we have developed some revised materials for 2022/23 to promote some key messages and keep us all safe.

New revised posters and stickers for sharps boxes will be delivered week commencing 8 August to teams across DCHS.

We would really appreciate your help to help put the new posters up in staff facing areas and that the new revised stickers are applied to the sharp's boxes currently in each store room and as they are delivered - either on the lid or on the front of the box underneath the main white sticker. Please do not cover any existing stickers.

Please see Guide attached to support staff.

The posters and stickers will be delivered to receptions across DCHS for the attention of the named manager of the service/team and there is hopefully a year's supply of stickers for each team to use. Please continue to use the current stickers/posters until the new versions arrive and any spare stickers please keep.

Thank you for you and your team's support.

Any further information on the materials designed please visit the Health and Safety webpage to find them under ‘Needlestick prevention’ in the ‘Health & Safety updates’ section.
