New 30-minute staff training helps support Armed Forces patients
A new training and education programme is being introduced by NHS England to help staff working in NHS trusts to meet the evolving needs of the Armed Forces community.
Available to all NHS trust staff, the national Armed Forces healthcare training and education programme equips busy teams with specialist insight, knowledge and resources to provide the best care possible to this patient group.
The quick and easy to do programme comprises a range of modules that cover:
- Who the Armed Forces community are;
- The health inequalities that affect the Armed Forces community;
- How to identify and record these patients on clinical records;
- The support pathways that are available to help these patients; and
- Stories from Armed Forces patients on why this is important for them.
Sessions are available to book from 10 November and are being delivered by dedicated regional trainers. A booking link will be shared in due course.
