The distribution of the new national uniforms is progressing well, with around one-third of orders now issued to clinical colleagues and the aim to complete the initial distribution phase within the next week.

We have adopted the new national uniform following consultations. Uniforms are currently being distributed as originally ordered, although we recognise that roles, sizes, and requirements may have changed since last summer. Some discrepancies in colourways may also have occurred due to outdated role information in ESR. Please note that there will be no changes to the colourways assigned to roles, as these align with national guidance.

As the new uniforms have been delivered, we’ve been made aware of some potential quality concerns with the white fabric. These are currently under urgent review, and we will provide further updates in due course.

There has also been some feedback regarding the fit (not sizing) for some individuals. Where there are significant concerns, we may be able to support appropriate modifications in exceptional circumstances. For any concerns relating to fit (not sizing), please contact dchst.professionalstandards@nhs.net

Sizing queries and swap requests will continue to be managed by the uniform project team, so there is no need to report these separately. If you have any other queries, issues, or need to request changes, please contact the uniform team directly at dchst.nationaluniform@nhs.netAny uniform returns should be sent via internal mail to the Logistics Team at Walton Hospital so they can be reissued in an ‘as new’ condition.

Orders for new starters will be arranged after this initial delivery phase is complete. Where uniform items are not available in the buffer stock, these will be ordered through a new procurement route launching in April.

Thank you to our admin, IFM logistics, and project staff who are working hard to issue the uniforms across the Trust. We recognise this has been a complex process and thank colleagues for their patience and understanding. When raising any concerns, we kindly ask that this is done in a respectful manner, recognising those supporting the rollout.
