We are inviting NHS staff to volunteer to take part in confidential focus groups exploring experiences of pay, progression and career opportunities across ethnic groups in the NHS.
This research is funded by the NHS Race and Health Observatory and administered by researchers at the University of Surrey. The research aims to better understand how pay and progression are experienced in practice, and what might help create fairer career pathways.
In this first stage, we are seeking volunteers for focus group participation.
Who can volunteer?
- NHS staff from any role, grade or background
What’s involved?
- A facilitated focus group discussion (online / in person), lasting around 90 minutes
Participant selection
- Spaces are limited. Participants will be selected from volunteers to ensure a range of roles, grades, and backgrounds, so not everyone who volunteers will be invited to take part. You will have a few weeks' notice of allocation of the timing. Focus groups will be online.
Why volunteer?
- Your insights will inform evidence-based recommendations to improve equality and progression in the NHS.
