You may have already heard that we have made the decision to merge the Quality and Medical Directorates. The joint Directorate will formally launch on 1 April 2022, and the new name, which was created in collaboration with colleagues in both areas, will be Quality & Professional Standards.
Over the past few months, our divisional Business Managers have been working with staff based in the Quality and Medical Directorates to develop clarity on the remit and responsibilities of our services. We hope that the new joint venture will enable greater collaborative working, contingency planning, avoidance of duplication, and the creation of a strong identity and understanding of both how we can support other Divisions in DCHS and also how we fit into the wider Derbyshire system. We also feel that, by joining forces, the Quality & Professional Standards Directorate will be able to work more effectively to meet our statutory responsibilities.
