About Us
Fire Safety law requires that fire safety information must be shared with all occupiers of the same premises.
The DCHS fire safety team is responsible for:
- Fire prevention and risk assessment in all buildings owned or managed by DCHS.
- Fire safety advice and evacuation planning in all buildings owned or managed by DCHS
- Fire drills in all buildings owned or managed by DCHS
- In buildings not under the management of DCHS but where staff may work/visit we request confirmation of fire prevention, risk assessments and drills.
- Management of fire incidents, including collating data from Datix fire related records
- Deliberate fire setting prevention and control
- Maintenance of equipment and provision of new resources
- Staff fire safety training (including UHDB and NUH staff on DCHS and CHP/LiftCo premises).
Where fires occur, our primary aim is, and will always be, to keep staff and patients safe, whilst also providing suitable fire exit routes and protecting buildings.
