This week, NHS colleagues are taking part in induction tours of the new Babington Health Centre ahead of opening day for the very first patients on Monday 17 August. The tours are providing a fantastic opportunity for teams to explore the space, get to know their new clinical surroundings and see first-hand the modern facilities designed to support patients and colleagues.
Babington Health Centre is a major investment in health services for Belper, delivering a modern and welcoming space that will benefit local people for years to come. It will provide state-of-the-art outpatient facilities the Belper community, and we can’t wait to welcome patients through the doors very soon.
The new £15 million health centre has been built on the site of the former Belper Clinic and will provide a base for all the outpatient services which are moving over from neighbouring Babington Hospital. The hospital building, which started life as a workhouse, is being decommissioned as it has reached the end of its suitability as a base for modern healthcare.
